Think interactive graphical search engine for scientific literature. This is a proof-of-concept (alpha version) data visualization project that I built on contract for the University of Washington's Eigenfactor Project. Unlike most typical data visualization implementations, which rely on Flash or server-side image assembly, this is a pure HTML5 project, where the server only supplies data, and all graphics and animations are calculated and drawn browser-side on HTML5 canvas elements.

Currently in private beta. A site visitor can build his/her own custom gift basket by selecting an empty basket or wooden crate, then filling it up with cans chosen from the menu. The company purchases all seafood directly from local fishermen, so the site includes an easy admin where employees are able to add or remove cans based on season and availability.

Multimedia Web app designed for the iPhone and iPod touch (per client spec). Deployed at Bill Reid Gallery, Vancouver, BC. Visitors to museum punch in the number of an art piece they're looking at, then listen to recorded information about it. App includes easy-to-use but powerful, browser-based, admin interface to drag-and-drop image and audio files directly from a computer's file explorer.

Note: To try this app on the iPhone or iPod touch and have it behave like a native app, first point Safari to the URL, then Add (bookmark) to Home Screen. Next click on the icon from the home screen. It will also generally work on your computer or tablet with any HTML5-compatible browser, but because HTML5 sound is not yet supported equally across all browsers, the sound might not  play.

    

       

3D interactivity in the browser is not just for demos anymore. This complex, cutting-edge site was launched for FieldProps.com of North Carolina. It features extensive 3D capabilities, from user customization of props, to interactive visualization on various 3D venues.
The entire site is integrated with e-commerce features, shopping cart, and PayPal checkout, so customized 3D props and accessories can be ordered on the spot.

FontDropper is an interactive Web app that I built for Extensis in partnership with their design team. With this app, anyone can visit any live website and modify the site by applying any of thousands of custom fonts available from the Extensis WebINK service. A new and convenient way to try out new fonts.

Technologies:  Advanced HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, JSON. Special 3D text simulated by combining JavaScript algorithms with CSS3 features.
